i might have missed the explanation about your new sheep characters so I'm gonna ask - what's up with them, why are they sheep?
lol its no problem, the joke is that all three of them are superheroes with sheep themes despite having only tangentially sheep-related powers/weapons.
from left to right in the image:
-polly (white-haired lady) is a superhero with a cloning power who named herself after the first cloned sheep dolly
-hypnos (blue-haired guy) is a superhero who was given magical powers to put people to sleep/manipulate dreams by a spirit themed around counting sheep, named sleep sheep
-barbara is a superhero with superstrength and a one-person battering ram named battering ram
and so they're all sheeple!
ive reported the entire tcc tag so they're basically doomed right now. staff has agreed that serial killer fanart is against community guidelines
oh thank goodness looking at their blog made me feel like i was losing my mind. how do people even start to think that shit is ok??
who is lapin rouge?
oh! lapin rouge is one of the antagonists in tigress. basically the Big antagonist is corvid, a crow lady who can use her artistic powers to create big monsters to cause havoc upon seattle. she does this so that lapin, whose kind of her lackey/sidekick, can then go out and steal powerful magical artifacts from museums and such while everyone is focused on the pandamonium elsewhere. corvid used to do it herself the first few attacks but almost got caught because she could feel when the moster got hit and would get distracted so she traded places at lapin's insistance. they can make metals and plastics grow so cold they become super brittle and shatter and freeze people with their breath (though it makes them lose their voice after awhile), so they're perfect for the job.
the reason lapin insists on being the one to actually do the stealing is because corvid is her mom, and she'd rather not see her mom get the beatdown from tigress, especially sense the whole point with the robbing is to get their other family members back in the first place. plus it makes more sense for the one creating the monsters to hide away so she can make more chaos if needed. it also means that tigress has two issues to deal with at once now, since stopping the robbery wont guarantee the monster goes down now.
outside of the suit, lapin rouge is cassidy, a mild-mannered, ice-skating loving high school student new to the school. she's kind of awkward because of that, but tries her best to make friends with the wild as hell classmates she now has. (she's also friends with and has a crush on cara, who's actually tigress, because i love alter ego nonsense). also she's genderfluid! mainly goes by she or they depending, though sometimes he'll go by he.
who is nemora?
she's the main character from a novel i started for nanowrimo uhhh *checks notes* three years ago! it's been a while.
basically she's an orphan in a(n actually good) orphanage who decides to travel the world at 16 bc that's the age when they stop being wards of the city and she doesn't want to immediately start working as an apprentice even though she has plenty of offers due to her skill in magical runes, which is BIG as a trade. so she skips town with a promise to send letters, and instantaneously gets embroiled in shenanigans, to which her general response is "hey check out this wolf statue i carved runes into, it wants to bite your ass off. fuck you." also she's an amnesiac goddess of darkness reincarnated into a human by the death goddess after said death goddess's human apprentice went rouge and killed a bunch of gods. don't worry about it.
anyway i'm love her and i really need to get back to writing that novel
energetic vibes... also sunny so like... Solar energy? The clearest of them all
1. favorite nickname?
katie-bird, it's what my dad calls me!
23. dream job?
uhhh full-time writer, probably? maybe a comic writer/artist
24. What would you do with a million dollars?
1. how many stories do you currently have in the works/are thinking about?
oh god, A LOT. there are about five that i can think of off-hand so i'll just say five.
2. if you have multiple, are they all the same genre? or do you have different genres? (ei. si-fi, classical fantasy, modern fantasy, historical fiction)
oh, they're absolutely not all the same genre. of the five, there's two modern fantasy, one si-fi, one superhero, and one actual fantasy. but if i was to say the most common genre i use it'd be modern fantasy.
3. why did you pick a certain genre?
to chose one, the si-fi story was because i wanted to write about a super-genius girl with spies for parents but didn't want to deal with actual current politics and how spies would opperate in them. also futuristic stuff is fun and i wanted to add robots and solarpunk stuff.
(for the rest of these i'll talk just about the superhero story)
5. describe your main story as vaguely/weirdly as possible.
using arson, a pocketwatch, and the power of friendship, a tiger made of fire and a wannabe engineer team up to fight a bunch of margin doodles made by a bird lady. said bird lady also has a rabbit furry ninja for a lacky who steals shit for her by breathing down on people's necks and ice cubes.
6. what's your main character fighting against? the government, another person, themself? are they well prepared to do so?
the main character is mainly fighting against a supervillain and her monsters (and maybe pimordial gods later? that's being workshopped). she starts out SUPER unperpared but she gets better a few fights in, mostly because she's a quick student. which is good, otherwise she'd probably be a splat on the wall.
8. what are your main plot inspirations from popular media?
uh, most superhero comics, especially ones which magic jewelry like shazam and green lantern. also magical girls.
13. do your ocs often have skills you wish you had? (ei. are good at cooking when you aren't, can boat while you live landlocked and have never been in the sea)
kfdjgm yeah. cara (mc) is interested in engineering and can play multiple instruments, while her friends all have cool skills like stage magic, analysis, etc. cassidy, the secondary protag is a figure skater, too!
tell me more about Lily
yeah ok! she's a 17 year old girl with two best friends, poppy and belladonna. (they call themselves the flower gang bc they're nerds.) she's in her school's choir and is considered the best singer of the group, perhaps even to a magical degree...
she's interested in the ocean and marine life. she spend at least a year obssessing over seafaring books/accounts and is inordinately fond of the pirates of the caribbean movies, even though she didn't care much for jack sparrow. she also likes sewing, and has made a couple of her own clothes, but her mom is catious about getting a sewing machine bc they're really expensive so she has to either stitch things by hand or use the local craft store's. speaking of her mom, their relationship is.... strained. her mom works at an accounting firm, usually just comes home and shuts herself up in her room to do more work, and seems to avoid talking to lily for reasons lily doesn't understand.
she can't remember much about her childhood, and doesn't remember her father at all, even though he only went missing when she was 9. her mom doesn't have any pictures of him up at all and goes quieter that usual when lily tries to bring him up. sometimes she dreams about a man with long hair teaching her how to do hers, but she isn't sure if that's a memory or just a figment of her imagination. nonetheless, she always has two pieces of hair seperated and tied so they hang apart from the rest, no matter if she's doing her hair up or down.
she likes rock music and is learning how to play guitar, and is thinking of convincing her friends to pick up other instruments so they can be a band.
5 for artist ask
the initial sketching, especially in digital art! i can just be really messy with it :)
ok weird question but why is your tigress a tigress? is magic involved?
yup! the v v basic idea is that there are animal spirits associated with concepts like fire/power or ice/cleverness or color/imagination but they only exist in the spirit plane a la atla and to have an effect on physical planes they need to let a physical being borrow their magic, and humans are the best for that. the superhero thing is because the vessels of the spirits take on a form/identity to fight against magical beings attacking their fellow humans; the older vessels used to become knights or warriors, but in the modern age the first association with that is the superhero genre, so that's what cara (tigress's actual name) becomes when she agrees to work with the tiger spirit.
there's also magical artifacts and demons but don't worry about that.
